Edited by Richard Fullagar and Sean Ulm, the Australian Archaeological Consultancy Monograph Series is a peer reviewed report series providing examples of best practice consultancy reports in archaeology and cultural heritage management. The series provides access to the results of investigations as part of the commitment of the Australian Association of Consulting Archaeologists Inc. to the continued improvement of the profession. The scope of the series includes the full range of consultancy activity, such as site assessment, regional survey, remote sensing, excavation, management and public education. Projects that display successful liaison and collaborative research initiatives with Indigenous communities and other stakeholders are encouraged.

A panel of three senior archaeologists peer review each submitted report on a pass/fail basis guided by the criteria outlined in the AACAI rules for Full Membership and with consideration of the AACAI Code of Ethics. Reports should not be materially altered from the original document delivered to clients, except for minor textual corrections, as the aim is to provide real-world examples of best practice.

If accepted, AACAI will add a standard title page and disclaimer to the report and upload it to the AACAI website. With the exception of sample issues, online access to published reports will be restricted to AACAI members, although hard copy reports will be made available for sale to anyone. Each report will have both a series ISSN and an individual ISBN and be refereed to standards required by the Department of Education, Science and Training (DEST). A print-on-demand service is available for those who would like to order a hard copy of any report.

Reports must be submitted as single pdf files. pdf files should be produced using Adobe Acrobat Distiller using the "PrintOptimized" setting. Reports should generally not exceed 250 pages in total length. All figures will be printed in grayscale. Contributors are responsible for gaining appropriate clearances from Indigenous communities and other stakeholders, relevant institutions, agencies and clients before they submit reports for consideration.

If you have a report that you think might be suitable for the series, please send the pdf file with covering letter specifying clearances to:
