10th World Archaeological Congress (WAC-10)

June 22, 2025 - June 28, 2025

The 10th World Archaeological Congress is taking place in Darwin, Australia from the 22nd to the 28th of June 2025.

WAC-10 will be hosted by Flinders University in partnership with the Northern Institute at Charles Darwin University. It will be an opportunity for attendees to collaborate with diverse colleagues and friends from around the globe and to contribute to global policy making.

The Congress will include:

  • Diverse academic program that includes all forms of archaeology
  • Cultural Festival that showcases the visual and performing arts of Indigenous peoples in Australia and globally.
  • Tours to archaeological sites in dramatic landscapes, guided by traditional custodians and archaeology site specialists.
  • Aboriginal teachers sharing stories, artworks and ancient traditions spanning more than 65,000 years.
  • Social events and policy-making.
  • Selected papers published by Springer in One World Archaeology book series.

WAC-10 will be held at a number of venues in Darwin:

  • Academic sessions will be held at Charles Darwin University’s two city campuses: Danala and the Waterfront. The Danala campus is within walking distance of Conference hotels. The Waterfront is slightly further away, but still within the city. Buses to and from Danala and the Waterfront will be provided by WAC-10 throughout the conference.
  • A reception will be held at the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory
  • A Gala Dinner will be held at The Esplanade
