NSW Aboriginal Archaeology Forum 2026

The call for papers for the 2026 Forum is now open!
The Forum is a one-day symposium on First Nations archaeology in NSW, for Aboriginal community, archaeological consultants, heritage managers and researchers. The forum has a focus on community and country, with a key aim to bring community aspirations regarding archaeological research to the fore. It provides an opportunity to share knowledge; showcase current projects and achievements; and discuss aspirations for the future of archaeological conservation, research and heritage management. The event includes short presentations and panel discussions on a range of areas important to community archaeology.
The 2026 Forum is presented by AACAI NSW/ACT Chapter and the Australian Museum with the generous support of the Chau Chak Wing Museum at the University of Sydney.
