Andrew is an archaeologist with over 15 years’ experience in heritage work throughout Australia, Malta, Italy, and Singapore.
Andrew has worked extensively on small to large scale projects as a team leader and a team member. He has worked on numerous projects including Defence, road and rail infrastructure, water, and sewer infrastructure as well as power, solar, windfarm projects and optical fibre. In addition, Andrew has over 15 years’ experience as an emergency service volunteer and team leader with the State Emergency Service and was a member of Disaster Relief Australia for four years. Andrew is a strong advocate for inclusion and diversity in the workplace and has presented on this topic at International conferences.

Andrew has worked on Aboriginal, historical, maritime, and classical sites where he has completed cultural heritage assessments, significance assessments and heritage management plans. He has completed site conservation and management assessments and written or contributed to over 150 heritage reports. Andrew has undertaken and supervised manual sub-surface testing, and excavation and has experience in site and laboratory supervision, artefact analysis, conservation, and digital heritage asset management. He has experience in conducting maritime, terrestrial, and aerial remote sensing surveys, and has a strong interest in innovative technology, and in AR/VR/MR/XR development for exploration, education, experience, and reflection.
Prior to becoming an archaeologist, Andrew served for 15 years in the military (RAAF), as well as five years in civil aviation ground and air operations in compliance and safety critical areas, and in electrical construction compliance and safety. Throughout his career he has worked extensively with government, private and community-based organisations. He is involved with Veteran transition research and Veteran support and recovery programs.
