Chris Kaskadanis is Director and Principal Archaeologist of Archaeological Solutions Australia Pty Ltd. Chris is a qualified archaeologist (Bachelor of Archaeology with Honours) and holds full membership of the Australian Association of Consulting Archaeologists Inc (AACAI). and the Environment Institute of Australia and New Zealand Inc (EIANZ). Chris satisfies the requirements of “Heritage Advisor” specified in s.189 (1) of the Aboriginal Heritage Act 2006 (Vic.) and has held full membership of AACAI since August 2009. Prior to founding Archaeological Solutions Australia ten years ago, Chris worked for various consultancies as team leader, senior archaeologist, and project manager within diverse specialist team environments. .

Chris Kaskadanis has 23 years of archaeological experience, including nearly twenty years of professional experience, having completed hundreds of archaeological and cultural heritage assessments. As owner and operator of Archaeological Solutions Australia Pty Ltd, Chris is highly experienced in cultural heritage project management. Chris develops systematic research design and sampling strategies for all ground survey and excavation programs. He is proficient in the analysis and interpretation of archaeological sites, features and remains. His assessment reports and cultural heritage management plans include detailed analysis and interpretation of cultural and natural events that have created and affected archaeological sites as well as their relationship within landscapes. With a background in multi-disciplinary team environments, Chris takes pride in effective client and stakeholder consultation and is experienced in negotiating solutions to complex archaeological problems. Chris ensures that all cultural heritage investigations are compliant with the Australian Association of Consulting Archaeologists Codes of Ethics and all relevant cultural heritage legislation, regulations and guidelines.
Chris specialises in southeastern Australian and Tasmanian archaeological research and site identification, cultural heritage management plans, archaeological field surveys, subsurface testing and salvage excavations, and project management and consultation. Chris has delivered cultural heritage assessments for all types and sizes of projects, ranging from small developments of land through to large infrastructure projects.
