Diana has completed a PhD from the University of New South Wales in Biological Anthropology and Archaeology in 2008.Diana graduated from the University of Sydney (USYD) in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree, majoring in Prehistoric and Historical Archaeology. Her undergraduate degree majored in Pacific Archaeology culminating in a dissertation on Polynesian archaeology.

Diana Neuweger is a Heritage Consultant based in Perth, and has been working in the heritage industry in Australia for twenty-one years, and has been based and working in WA for the last nine years. Diana is the Director and Principal Heritage Consultant at Archaeo Logical Heritage Pty Ltd (ALH). During Diana’s time as a heritage consultant and project manager, she has consulted with various Federal and State Government Agencies, and understands the requirements to meet legislative obligations, while managing heritage issues in a timely and cost-effective manner. From 2017 to 2019 Diana was contracted to Main Roads Western Australia to assist with all aspects of their heritage needs, including negotiation of Heritage Agreements with various West Australian Aboriginal Communities, undertake Traditional Owner consultation, liaison with internal & external project managers, consultation with State and Local government, apply for and manage heritage consents, as well as assisting with the development internal policies and programs. Previous roles in the non-for-profit and consulting sectors has seen Diana author over 100 heritage reports, including cultural heritage management plans, survey reports, interpretation plans, excavation reports and excavation research plans. Diana has experience in both Aboriginal and European heritage, has directed numerous excavations in several states of Australia in both Aboriginal and European heritage and is well versed in Stakeholder engagement, strategic planning and advice. Diana prides herself on the following competencies: • Strong project management, time management and budgeting skills • High level of communication and writing skill • Experience in working and consulting with Traditional Owners • Organised and efficient.
