Diana Cowie a Senior Heritage Consultant, holds a Bachelor of Arts with First Class Honours, majoring in archaeology and palaeoanthropology from the University of New England. Diana has worked on a broad range of projects of varying scales across Australia and beyond.

Consulting Experience
Diana Cowie is an archaeologist with expertise in the identification and assessment of Indigenous heritage and historical sites, both in Australia and abroad. Diana has experience in a highly professional consulting company undertaking a range of projects and dealing complex heritage issues.
Diana is skilled in the preparation of heritage studies, interpretation plans, historical and Aboriginal archaeological assessments, research designs and excavation reports. Diana has experience in historical research, social values analysis, landscape, and curtilage assessment. Her expertise in site recording, mapping and GIS have been further enhanced through involvement in international projects in Jordan, Cambodia and Turkey. Diana is highly skilled in directing Aboriginal archaeological excavations, undertaking community consultation, preparing Aboriginal plans of management, post-excavation analysis, cataloguing, research and archiving. She is also well versed in state and federal heritage legislation; including best practice policies and guidelines.
Diana has been involved in built heritage assessments, interpretation, comparison, and conservation studies. She also has an understanding of movable heritage assessment, museum collection management and exhibition development.
Diana has successfully forged excellent working relationships with Aboriginal communities, clients and other heritage stakeholders in the many local consultative projects she has been involved in.
